Family Corner, April 2026
Pop over for a popover!
Each Sunday, we gather around the table. At Mass, we gather at the Eucharistic table. We share again in the Body of Christ, and with the Body of Christ--our brothers and sisters in the Church.
At home, we can Reclaim Sundays in the Domestic Church by praying together and sharing a special meal. This month, April 2026, the Archdiocese invites to break bread and pray together. Go to the Family Corner page….
See below for ideas from the Archdiocese as well as some particular ways we here at Nativity can cultivate good talk.
Think about these suggestions for April from the Reclaiming Sundays guide:
• Create a special meal and share time at the table together.
• Early in the month, spend some time one Sunday to make family plans for the
Triduum and the Easter season. There are so many traditions that go with these days! Adopt a new one.
• Find ways to incorporate Alleluias into your family’s prayer. (Sing it, pray it, decorate
your prayer space with it, greet each other with it ...).
• Plan ways your family can intentionally celebrate the season of Easter for all 50
Days (especially appropriate on Sundays).
• Learn the Regina Caeli prayer.
An easy and universally loved way to make any meal special is to bake and serve a simple bread. Mix up some corn muffins to accompany anything from breakfast through late night snack.
Or try a batch of popovers. These delicious, simple but dramatic treats will make any Sunday especially festive this Easter season!
Best Popovers
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
Set out eggs and milk to let them come to room temperature. Mix all ingredients until just combined. Pour into a well buttered popover pan (or extra large muffin tin). Fill each cup ¼ full.
Bake at 450 for 30 minutes. Resist the temptation to open the oven door while baking! Popovers will rise over the pan! Serve right out of the oven with butter, jam, or honey. Delicious!
