We are pleased to welcome back our School students to our daily Masses this week, with a new policy that will provide a higher level of security. In particular, we will restrict entrances during our Wednesday and Friday morning Masses when our School children are present.

Registration for Elementary Faith Formation for the new program year, which began September 17, has been extended to October 1.

On September 7 the Catholic Church canonized two young saints, Pier Giorgio Frassati and Carlo Acutis. Each saint had a special devotion to the Eucharist and to serving the poor. Click here to learn more, including newly added prayer ideas!

Family Corner will now tie into the Archdiocesan initiative to help us refresh and deepen observation of the Lord’s Day. This initiative is described in "Reclaiming Sundays: A Guide for Families." For each month of the next year, Family Corner will develop the Archdiocesan theme as we can live it here at Nativity of Our Lord.

Lynn McConnell has resigned from her position in Human Resources at Nativity of Our Lord, effective August 7, and Nick Erickson has been hired in the role of Accounting Specialist, replacing Joyce Kotta, and began work on the parish staff on Monday, August 25.

I wish to offer a word of my deepest gratitude to all members of our parish community, including parents and children, teachers and staff, parishioners and community members for making the first week of school a great success, particularly in light of the tragedy at Annunciation.

Fr. Tollefson extends an invitation to a prayer vigil this evening at 7pm in the church, and pledges a renewed commitment to safety on our campus and of support for our community.

“Year 3” of the Synod will extend into 2026-2027 with the theme of Equipping Parents as the Primary Educators of their Children in the Faith. Implementation of this theme will begin with a “soft start” in this, the 2025-2026 year. Click here for more information.

The 2025 Nativity County Fair Raffle is bigger and better than ever! We’re also expanding the Nativity Bakery to include a Produce Market, and get ready for the annual Collectible Corner sale.

Online registration is now open for Friend of the Fair Sponsorships, a great way for individual families, business owners, or groups to come together to support the Fair. And, new this year, a recognition wall will be on display outside the School Plaza entrance through fall break (mid-October). 

In response to the liturgical listening sessions last fall, we will introduce some changes to the 9:00 AM Sunday Mass, beginning on Sunday, September 21 to make it more family-friendly. We also plan to bring back Communion under both species (the Body and Blood of Christ).

The NCCW is looking for a volunteer Marketing Communications Manager from September-June. Work with a great group of women promoting faith, fellowship, and service, with just a 2-4 hour/month time commitment.

We completed our search process a few weeks ago and determined that Nativity would be best served by delaying the hiring process for a period of six months to a year so that we can better define the scope of the position with the Discipleship team.

Each May at the annual Madonna Mass and reception, the NCCW recognizes outstanding young women who demonstrate acts of faith, humility, generosity, and kindness through school, parish, and community involvement.
